The Spanish-learning experience at Juan Sisay is top-quality. The teachers and directors make you feel at home and really work hard to meet the needs of all the students. Apart from the excellent classes, the varied activities and the warm and social atmosphere, the school is always giving back to the community by providing children from poor families the opportunity to go to school. I really recommend this school to anyone looking for the best experience in Xela.

I like the school very much and I am satisfied about the stay here. What I like the most is the atmosphere here and the relationship between teachers and students. The activities aswell are very good because you can see the different parts of Xela and its people. I would like to say that my teacher was a very good teacher.

In the past two weeks at Juan Sisay, I have realized how much Spanish I have forgotten. Granted, it has been 12 years since I last studied it. However, I have remembered what I thought long forgotten. The biggest benefit is relearning the usage of the language. Thanks to the school and my teacher Jose, I now feel I can at least function again in an only Spanish-speaking environment. I have also been reminded of the necessity of continued study to maintain my abilities or even to strengthen them. I will always remember the people I have met, my fellow students, the teachers and directors, my host family, and some citizens of Xela. I will also remember the events good + bad. Riding for 4 hours in the back of a pick-up truck full of luggage with my girlfriend and the stars, a natural sauna that was wonderful even if it took awhile to get used to. I do not know if I will ever be able to return here, but I wish to. If not, I will still have my memories and the valuable knowledge I have gained of the Spanish language and of another culture.

This is the third school I have been to in 2 months and I prefer it to the other two. There is more interchange among the students and the teachers as well. I would love to stay longer and hope to return,I like Xela. I like the whole country. It´s been a pleasure to be here. I feel very fortunate and wish more people could experience what I have in the past 9 weeks.
